What's the point in servicing my car?

In simple terms, a car service is an inspection, cleaning and maintenance of your car.

Keeping your car in tip-top condition is an investment that will pay off for years to come. Regular servicing prevents major issues from developing into expensive problems, while also ensuring the validity of any warranties on it!
You and your passengers will be safer on the road.
Regular oil changes will help keep your car running efficiently.
Prevent mechanical problems and breakdowns.
Your car will last longer and you will save money.
You won't have to do repairs frequently.
Your car will start every time.
You will feel more confident driving.
Regular maintenance also helps prevent future expensive repairs by ensuring that parts haven't worn out before their time.
"I couldn't be more happy with the service this business provides.

Had both my partners Mitsubishi Lancer and my Toyota Hilux serviced here recently and the experience is far better then any dealer could ever provide.

Will continue to take our vehicles here in the future."

What are the differences between car service options?

1.

Standard Car Service

Our standard service is a comprehensive check of your vehicle to ensure it runs efficiently and safely and generally includes:

  • Changing oil and oil filter to keep the engine running smoothly.
  • Check tyre pressure and tread, rotate tyres and check if a wheel alignment is needed.
  • Check & top up all the fluid levels in your car, including coolant, brake fluid and transmission fluid.
  • Perform a battery test to ensure enough charge.
  • Check lights and see if bulbs need replacing.
  • Visual checks of brakes, steering, and suspension.
  • Inspect essential parts such as belts and hoses for signs of damage or wear.
  • Check for any faults with brakes, suspension or steering systems that may need attention soon.
  • Checking or replacing the air and fuel filters and auto air conditioning refrigerant gas if needed.

Logbook Service

Logbook servicing is essentially the same as standard car service, except that it's done on brand new cars under warranty at specific intervals set out by the manufacturer's specifications. The logbook service varies by manufacturer but is usually every 10,000km or 12 months depending on what comes first and follows the guidelines set out for the service.

The auto industry's biggest myth is that your car loses its new statutory warranty if the dealer does not service it. This is false, providing you service your car to the manufacturers' specifications at scheduled intervals. Any qualified mechanic or service shop can perform a log book service on your car by following the manufacturer's requirements and using products that meet the original specification. As long as the log book is stamped, it will not void your statutory warranty.

Our qualified mechanics will inspect and repair all critical components of your car, such as the engine, brakes and suspension system. The mechanic will also check the bodywork for any signs of damage or corrosion.

We provide logbook servicing using parts, fluids and lubricants made to the highest standards.

When should I get my car serviced?

Every car is different and it all depends on it's age. Use the below as a general guide.

Time or distance, whichever comes first

You should service your car depending on its age. Newer models can be serviced at intervals of 10,000km or 12 months or whatever comes first, whereas older ones could be 5,000km or 6 months.

As recommended by your logbook

To keep your statutory warranty, you will need to service your car when the logbook states it is due. It could be based on date or the number of kilometers travelled.

When you notice a problem

  • If you suspect that there may be a problem and that your car is potentially unsafe to drive.
  • If you're having trouble with your vehicle's brakes, transmission or other aspects, it's time for a quality car service.
  • Contact us immediately for repair if your engine is overheating and needs attention.

How long does a service take?

A standard service can take up to three or four hours; however, if additional mechanical repairs are required, it could take longer.

It is important to know this because you want to ensure your car will be ready when you need it. If you plan on taking a trip, it is best not to schedule anything until after you service your vehicle.

Our mechanics can perform many types of services and repairs on a vehicle, each with different steps and time requirements. Some services take only half an hour, while others may take all day! Most businesses have similar hours to ours so that you can plan your day accordingly. The average service takes around two hours but could take longer if the technicians feel they need more time than usual or less if they have already done most of their work before they start servicing your car!
